Hi, I’m Wallace

Barn Sanctuary received a call from Jackson County Animal Control regarding a smaller sanctuary struggling to feed its animals. The animals there were living in squalor, breeding freely, and being fed only every few days.

We stepped in to remove all 26 pigs and piglets, providing immediate care and searching for new homes.

Fortunately, we were able to rehome several pigs to other sanctuaries. Despite being informed that the adult males had been castrated, we discovered that Wallace was cryptorchid, meaning one or both of his testicles did not descend properly.

The remaining pigs, a total of 16 (including 2 that had litters), have now found their forever home at Barn Sanctuary. We built a new habitat specifically for potbelly pigs, where they can now spend their days playing in their yard and basking in the sun.

Wallace is likely the father of most of the younger potbellies. He was discovered to be cryptorchid.. A little too late. :)

While he is a big fan of face scritches, he is a sneaky biter and will go after legs and feet. Beware!!

He is short and squatty with frosted tips.

Sponsorships help us provide daily care, regular medical checkups, and cover any unexpected emergency care costs for each animal. Sponsor Wallace to help us provide the care he deserves!
