Introducing Barn Sanctuary’s New Executive Director, Cynthia VanRenterghem
We’re delighted to announce that Cynthia VanRenterghem has joined Barn Sanctuary as our next Executive Director.
Cynthia arrives here having just finished a very successful four-year tenure as Executive Director of Growing Hope, a Ypsilanti-based nonprofit that fosters an equitable and sustainable local food system. Previously, Cynthia was Director of Operations for a software company, Project Manager for an engineering firm, and successfully launched, scaled, and ultimately sold a successful garden products company where she also managed product development, marketing, finance, and operations.
In each of her roles, Cynthia has demonstrated expertise in organizational leadership, resource management, strategic planning, financial management, and more. Her familiarity with both the joys and challenges that come with working in the nonprofit space along with her experience launching her own startup brings a deep understanding of Barn Sanctuary’s needs as a very successful, but still relatively young, organization, and makes her ideally suited to meet this moment in Barn Sanctuary’s story as we move into our next chapter and continue to grow.
Cynthia and her husband Rob have four children, Grace, Hadley, Mac, and Vivian, and a dog, Luna, and two cats, Alfi, and Mara. Cynthia lives in Ann Arbor, grew up with horses (and any animal in the area who needed a home!), and is passionate about flower and vegetable gardening.
Please join us in welcoming Cynthia to the Barn Sanctuary family!
