Hi, I’m Ruby
Barn Sanctuary received a call from Jackson County Animal Control regarding a smaller sanctuary struggling to feed its animals. The animals there were living in squalor, breeding freely, and being fed only every few days.
We stepped in to remove all 26 pigs and piglets, providing immediate care and searching for new homes. Fortunately, we were able to rehome several pigs to other sanctuaries.
The remaining pigs, a total of 16 (including 2 that had litters), have now found their forever home at Barn Sanctuary. We built a new habitat specifically for potbelly pigs, where they can now spend their days playing in their yard and basking in the sun.
Ruby is the other piglet that was returned from Reba’s Rescue in fall 2023 with Willard, Wallace, and her sister, Ruby.
She is shorter and stubbier in stature than Raven, and she has a pink spot on her nose.
She gave birth to Ares, Hades, Persephone and Odin on 12/21/23. Odin was very small and unfortunately passed the following day.
