Hi, I’m Nadia
In April of 2019, Nadia was spotted running across a busy street in Ypsilanti by one of our long time volunteers. After a wild chase around the neighborhood, she was finally caught and brought to the volunteer's home.
After asking around in online groups, trying to track down if anyone was missing her, she found out that Nadia had been roaming the streets for several weeks. While the volunteer took amazing care of Nadia and offered her tons of enrichment, she noticed that Nadia seemed lonely and was in need of chicken friends. Barn Sanctuary then agreed to take her into their care.
Nadia was brought to Barn Sanctuary in October of 2019. After a short quarantine period, she was cleared to join the other chickens. Nadia was very eager to make friends and she fit in with the others in no time. When she isn't out exploring her yard with her flock, you may find her napping on the highest perch with her best friend, Serena. She's still very shy towards her human caretakers, but she does always enjoy visits from her amazing foster mom.
