Hi, I’m Gunther
Gunther came to us in July 2023 from Minnesota after being surrendered by a breeder. This little guy had a tough start to life as he was born breech and unresponsive. After becoming conscious, Gunther seemed okay for the first couple of days, but his health quickly declined and he can no longer use his back legs. Due to his disability, he wasn't sellable and the local vet recommended euthanization.
The breeder reached out to Farmaste Animal Sanctuary. Having worked with us to rescue another goat, Farmaste contacted us to Gunther a forever home.
Gunther is a Nigerian dwarf goat and continues to keep us on our toes! After surgery and months of PT from our animal care staff, Gunther can bear weight on his rear legs and is mobile - he's also a happy little guy who keeps us on our toes. He continues to get daily PT from animal care staff and visits a local PT center for exercises, sometimes acupuncture, and laser therapy.
Sponsorships help us provide daily care, regular medical checkups and cover any unexpected emergency care costs for each animal. Sponsor Gunther to help us provide the care he deserves!
