Hi, I’m Cal

Cal started his young life in a state of uncertainty. While his mother was carrying this sweet boy, she broke her hip and had to calve him at a hospital, where she was ultimately euthanized.

Besides the sadness of losing his mom right from birth, Cal had another struggle to face: He was slated to go to the auction, where he would be sold and then raised for slaughter. It was a grim fate until a caring person, who had noticed how affectionate Cal was, intervened on his behalf by contacting Barn Sanctuary.

His heart-shaped forehead marking reminds us so much of what our fearless girl Cora looked like, and we think Cal will beautifully carry on the legacy of her resilient spirit. Him and Hopper just moved in with the Big Cows and are doing great!
